If we look at life as a cycle, moving from birth to death to rebirth then it is fair to assume we shall have many experiences on our journey, good, bad and indifferent.
If you look at the Wheel closely, you will see a reflection of the different stages of fortune that we will all undergo during our lives. Sometimes we will be on top of the Wheel, riding high and feeling amazing, while at other times we will be under the Wheel, feeling crushed by the weight of circumstance and a fickle fate.

Whichever position we find ourselves on the Wheel, if we identify with the motion and the placement, then we are always at the mercy of the Wheel.

At the centre we are the driver - this is the true meaning of the Wheel of Fortune card. It means taking responsibility for our circumstances, our disappointments and our opportunities, since this is the real place of power, and knowing that we have the strength and ability to turn the Wheel whichever way we choose.
Traditionally this card brings a fortunate change in circumstances, and is a shining light in the dark for us when we need some hope that our circumstances will improve. And there is nothing wrong at all with having something to look forward to - hope and happiness are always welcome.
