Known also as the Prophet of the Eternal, Magus of the Voice of Power and ruled by Virgo, The Hermit represents resting in your centre, finding your own inner source of strength and light, and seeking inner guidance and strength.
Virgo rules health and service, order and balance. Sometimes we have to go within to regather the equilibrium that we were born with, and remember that when serving others it is often paramount to serve our own needs first, so that we are capable of extending our good outside of ourselves.
This card appears now because you have moved away from your inner core of wellbeing and it is now required for you to find that wellspring of health and vitality again that has dissipated due to you caring too much about others and too little about your self. Every one of us needs to ensure our own base of stability and happiness so that we can serve others with our strength.
The tone of this card is quite dark - it represents the subconscious and how we don't always see what forces shape us clearly. But The Hermit always provides a light and a way. He shows us that we need not be afraid of what we can't see or don't fully comprehend.
It will be useful for you to begin a health ritual - do something every day that reduces stress, allows you to relax and focus on your wellbeing. If there are health problems rooted in emotions (as often they often are) then thinking about your reactions to emotional triggers in your life and working on dissipating these will be useful to you now.
And so The Hermit is a very positive card that tells you that you have the resources deep within to overcome anything that life throws at you. Step away from the herd, find your own inner authority, trust in that. and all shall be well.
