Known also as the Daughter of the Flaming Sword and ruled by Leo, the card of Strength represents internal and external fortitude, resilience and recognition of latent talents.
This card is also passion, as it could be said that our greatest strength is demonstrated when we are connected to our core passionate nature.
The Strength card often depicts a maiden taming a lion. She is controlling the beast nature within with tenderness and a loving hand, not with physical strength but with the strength of recognition, acceptance and firm resolve.
It represents one of the Virtues as Fortitude, and as such is an important aspect of character. It is faith in oneself and in life itself - and is strong enough to move mountains, remove obstacles and outwait misfortune with calm certitude that things will always improve if you let them.
Where there is trouble in relationships with others, the Strength card advises to approach these matters with patience, love and acceptance. When we can accept the beast for what it is and find value in its strength instead of fighting it, we find that difficulties melt away and we can appreciate differences rather than trying to change the world into what we consider acceptable.
This card can also signify a special connection to nature, particularly through a bond with an animal or pet who can help you to open your heart more to the beauty of nature and the natural world, of which you are a part.
The Strength card can also signify a person who has a strong passionate nature coming in to your life and will be an important ally who will benefit you and also inspire these qualities to emerge in you too.
